About Frédéric Choquette, founding partner of Acker Choquette

Lawyer and member in good standing with the Bar of the province of Québec since 1994, Frédéric Choquette is Strategic Counsel at the “Société Québécoise des infrastructures”.

From 2006 to 2013, he was the Director for Policies and Procedures at the “Infrastructure Quebec Public-Private Partnerships Agency”.  His main responsibilities involved the development and implementation of best practices in the planning and delivery of large infrastructure projects.

Prior to joining these Quebec government infrastructure agencies, Frédéric was appointed in 2004 to the position of Legal Counsel in charge of coordinating inquiries at the “Commission d’enquête sur les dépassements de coûts et des échéanciers du chantier de la société Papiers Gaspésia”, allowing for a better understanding of the mistakes involved in the modernization of a pulp and paper facility in Chandler, which led to a major government financial fiasco.

Furthermore, Frédéric was a resident of the United Arab Emirates for six years, where he co-founded in 1997 a law firm specializing in the fields of corporate law, international private law and commercial arbitration, enhancing his expertise in the implementation of business development and projects financing strategies, stakeholder analysis and the implementation of performance-based management for public and private organizations.

Frédéric Choquette dedicates most of his free time in teaching and training of project management to managerial staff from state companies in emerging countries, mostly in Africa and Asia.
